Snake Island (Nanaimo, BC) incident today?

Has anyone heard of a problem during a (chartered) dive on Snake Island / Snake Wall in Nanaimo, BC today? It seems there may have been an accident...

Anyone in BC with information?

just caught a glimpse of it on the news. They said the diver had done 2 20 min dives, surfaced and died?

I heard an older man diving off Sundown's boat died at the surface after a dive on Snake Island. Looks like a possible heart attack.

Hmmm... I can't find anything on it yet. Do you know if it was a local diver or not? Any more details?

That is very unfortunate, it is never a good thing to lose a diver for any reason while diving, or as a result of diving.

How aweful. I missed the evening news today, It's always horrible to hear these things. I've dove Snake Island a few times (post breton or saskatchewan) and it's always seemed pretty like a pretty tame dive site to me.

Nothing is a tame dive site if you are having an MI in the water . . .

I always feel for the charter crew when something like this happens, especially if there was nothing they could have done about it. It just has to make you feel awful when you took someone out to dive and they ended up dying.
