I only snack between dives when on a charter. On my shore dives I eat in the car en route. As long as I have my cola I'm human-- doesn't matter exactly when.
Im surprised the boats you dive on dont offer fruit and cookies. I like Kind Bars with nuts and chocolate, but put then in a cooler or you'll have a chocolate mess. If yo are on your own for snacks, nuts and fruit work.
