Because of my new diving hobby, folks are suddenly asking me what smallish diving related stuff I would like for Christmas. :) Besides gift cards to DRIS, what should I be asking for? I've got all my gear except for tanks, but I'm sure there are small bits and pieces I'll need (that I've not though of) that folks can easily order online. $100 or less.

Thanks! :D

Stick with shaker noise maker cylinder as part of it.

replacement mouthpieces.

Custom hood with shark fin on top.

Skin (some call it sharkskin).

Scuba socks

Spring straps

emergency strobe light

small backup light

I dive dry, planning on going on some easy wreck dives on Lake Michigan and then a trip to dive shallow wrecks on Lake Huron next summer.

Quarry diving, mostly otherwise.

I have no lights at all.

say no to the rattle and get a muck stick (you can tap your tank if you absolutely have to make noise but it's really a pointer/position holder for photography) Scuba Tank Banger Dive Tickle Muck Stick Tool Noise Maker Underwater Photography | eBay

and I'll second on all the above - especially on fill cards, SS bolt snaps, and spring straps.

The DiveAlert is an absolute must IMHO if you're doing anything off of a boat or dealing with a current. Get the one that does both - UW quacker & surface screamer and you'll be covered.

I would suggest the following:
Lights - nice to have on any dive but essential if you are in places where the bottom is silty or can get stirred up with currents. Also allows you to do night dives which are completely different to day dives.

Some form of cutting tool (preferably two)- knife, trilobyte, trauma shears.

Bolt snaps (can never have enough tbh).

Credit to courses

Vouchers for gear (lets you pick your wish list)

I wouldn't bother with a tank banger - if you have lights, knife, boltsnaps etc you have plenty to bang a tank with.

If you travel maybe get things like a waterproof bag for your phone, wallets and that
New gear bag maybe

My friend just got me this google it
Rinse hanger kit

SMB / DSMB if you don't have one. A good reel (might be a bit much depending on budget or choice) or finger spool. I also really like my hangair for drying my wetsuit or the inside of my drysuit after a dive.

One thing to note, be careful about your accessory choices. You don't want to look like a walking dive shop when you go diving. A lot of the little accessories end up getting purchased and then tossed in a bucket to never be used again after the first time.
