Robert-

Most all of the dive-ops on Utila run with very smaller boats, or some have a small variety- I gather that you are looking for a six-pack. When you were on Roatan, which dive-op did you finally select and how did that work for you? That would give others a good clue as to the vibe that you are looking for.

If you have already "searched" on this forum, then take a peek at Scuba Diving - Utila Dive Shops & Dive Centres - The Bay Islands, Honduras

Look for someone in town. Two of the AI's (Deep Blue and Utopia) only have one large boat and accommodate 20 or more guests weekly. Laguna Beach has a fleet of larger Newton dive boats, both times we saw them they were pretty full - in March.

I'd also look for something with some shade. If you go whalesharking after diving you could be out there a couple of hours looking.
