As I posted in another thread, one of the things my wife and I do on each trip we take is send a postcard to our now 2 ½ year old granddaughter. In the future, she will eventually see (and understand) a picture of where we traveled to, have a stamp from a different country, and have a nice written sentiment from us.

A card we mailed last November from Riviera Maya, MX took awhile as it arrived 2 months and a handful of days later.

That has now been beat by the postcard we mailed from Dominican Republic on April 28th......it just arrived today! Almost 4 months!!

There must be a different name for mail that moves that slow!!

I used to send postcards to myself to see how long they would take. Some never arrived at all.

I sent one to my daughter from Bonaire that took almost 6 months to get to Canada.
It had evidently been sent to the wrong country (can't remember which one) and by the time it got to us had two postmarks-- one from Bonaire, and one from wherever it was initially sent...

Latest postcard from Cabo San Lucas: Dropped off at post office Jan. 22 or 23. Postmarked Jan. 25. Just arrived on April 2. We're always happy that they make it in a timely manner!
