SLO, SB, and Ven. Counties

Hi everyone,

As you all know, Headhunter has appointed me Local Guide of the Northern Counties, to promote diving participation at our dive sites. We should come up with a list of local dive spots for possible gatherings and dives/picnics.

Please post the dive sites that you dive. Lets get a list going that kicks!

Also, If you have any suggestions and/or comments, please post them.

Welcome!

Avila Beach has a couple sites.
Old Port San Luis-pretty much flat, good training spot
Cal Poly Pier-alot of critters to see
So. Avila Beach-a nice reef system
(thanks to SLOfrog for the info)

The diving in these areas are in conjunction with the weather. It is pretty much hit and miss.

We are getting ready to schedule some dives in the area, you are welcome to join in the fun.

That is great! I can't wait to meet you, and get in some dives. Have you checked out the Wrinkles beach dives and the Motivation boat dives the SoCal forum holds once a month? A bunch of us go to these functions regularly, and you are more than welcome to come as well. We have an excellent time, and get in some good diving too.

that is my plan, this next week i should be recieving my drysuit and b.c. and i will be haveing a bad knack to try them out but i dont want to plan on a dive so soon and not have my equipment yet

Arroyo Burro State Beach and Hendry's Beach are the same. The official name is Arroyo Burro, but us locals refer to it as Hendry's Beach.
