Second the lock washers. Mine were from Home Depot. You could probably find them at many hardware stores.

I still check that they're tight whenever I remember, at least once in several dives. Some people use Loctite, a threadlocker adhesive, but I've never found that I need that.
 
Nice thread. I will replace my butterfly nut with a locknut in the next few days.

I put locktite on the screws for my STA. It's not too tough to intentionally break, and it solved the problem of having to tighten the wing nuts before each dive. https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Heavy-Duty-Threadlocker-Single/dp/B000I1RSNS/


That would depend on the grade [Number/Color] of Loctite used. Loctite threadlocker comes in several different strengths and is color coded as well. You would want the low strength (243/222/221) colour coded purple versions if you want to be able to undo it by hand.
