sleep apnea and clearing ears

I sleep with a cpap machine. Last time I was diving, the first after using my cpap, I had a real hard time clearing my ears. Is this associated with the cpap machine?..my air flow level is 12.

My CPAP is also set to 12 and I don't have a problem with clearing. I have about 100 dives since I started using the machine.

My guess is that the difficulty in clearing was just a coincidence.:14:

I'll agree it was a coincidence. I've been sleeping with my CPAP since July and haven't had any issues on the numerous dives I've done since then.

I had no idea just how common these CPAP users are. i just got one last month and haven't been diving yet, but do have a question for the doc on board. I seem to have developed a raw throat and persistant cough for over 2 weeks.

I am considering another visit to the ENT to see if somehow this machine is effecting my throat.

Any ideas?

Is the air humidified? An uncommon complaint is dryness, and this could affect your Eustachian tubes.
