So I ordered a ScubaPro Mark25 with a GP250 from leisurepro. When I received it, the box said Mark25/GP250 on the outside. But on the first stage, on the knob used to tighten to a tank with a yoke fitting, it says Mark20. When I called them up to tell them they sent me the wrong part, they said that a Mark25 is a Mark20 that has been retrofitted with something for external IP adjustment. Now I already knew the difference between the Mark25 and Mark20, and I know that a kit is available to dealers to convert a Mark20 to Mark25.

I don't know where or what the external IP adjustment screw should look like, but I'll compare it to my roomates old Mark20 when I get home to make sure that mine has the adjustable IP. He doesn't have the external IP adjustment.

Now my questions are:

1) Are all brand new Mark25s sold this way? Meaning if I were to buy from an authorized dealer, and paid full price for a Mark25, would it still say Mark20 on it?

2) Did Leisurepro falsely advertise, since on their website, their product description says Mark25?

3) Is there any difference between a Mark20 that has been retrofitted with an external IP adjustment, and a "genuine" Mark25, besides the badge?

If there is no difference, then I guess I won't worry about since I got a good price ($325 for the mk25 and g250). But your comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

No, it would say Mk25, if only because they'd have changed the decal when they updated the reg.

Not really since what you have is functionally a Mk25. If you'd bought it from an real SP dealer you might have a legitimate minor gripe. But you bought it from LP, and anyone who has been paying attention ought to know that LP is not a legitimate SP dealer, and frequently sells discontinued and outdated models, stuff bought on closeout abrooad, and even (on at least one occasion) counterfeit ger. So you've gotten off easy!

Well, the yoke will still say Mk20 :-)

Actually, there have been a few small changes in the Mk20 and 25 in the time I've had mine. I think they did away with a backup washer and added a piston sleeve. Or is it the other way around? But they are pretty minor.
