Situation in Tulamben?

Hi, I just heard that the airport in Bali has closed again due to volcanic ash.

I'm headed there in 2 weeks time, wonder what the situation's like in Bali in general, and is the visibility in Tulamben and Tepekong affected?

The airport has been closed on & off while the winds over Bali were from the North West for the mid part of July (very rare it is normally from the east or south east during July/August/Sept). As soon as the wind returnd to the east the airport has been open. In Tulamben the sky has been clear the entire time, the volcanic eruption in Java had no effect on sea visibility or wave conditions in Tulamben or the east coast sites. However there were large swells on the last new moon (around the same time the wind was from the north west). The swells have damaged some dive sites, as they do each year at this season. But reports of everything damaged are far fetched. Most coral reef sites in the area are un-touched, while some of the muck sites the sand movement has buried some rich area's, but there are still plenty of critters. The Coral Garden in Tulamben suffered the worst, with some upturned corals and sand movement.
