Hmm....I am in the same boat....going to Redang instead....prolly will go to Sipidan myself next year. I kinda feel that if we go as a couple, my wife should at least have some fun instead of just waiting around bored....why even waste the money if so? There are other resorts where diving isn't bad and there may be a bit more for her to do.

The way I see it, I would rather save the money, go myself and buy her something nice.....or go somewhere else where she can also have SOME fun (Phuket, Redang, etc) than have her complain non stop that she is so bored when I come back from a great dive....the ear ache would be worse than not equalizing properly and my guilt of leaving her waiting would ruin a good dive...

My wife does not even swim...which makes it really hard. Oh well, next time, I could leave her with her parents in KL on our annual trip back to Malaysia and go off for a week myself (or with a dive buddy)...but this time no

Yes, I agree. I have decided Bali is the perfect place. Cheap, and I can get picked up for a long ride out to the dive sites in the heart of the cultural places. It was REALLY hard for me to make that decision though, as I dont go to Malaysia every year, and may very well not be back (so many places to see, so little money). Sipadan sounds like world class diving, with amazing hotels. Its on every list of top 5 dive destinations I have ever read. Oh well.
