haha, yeh I think I am looking into Mabul. But money is still an Issue!

I hear you on this one. I'll be there in the beginning of May and am still having a little sticker shock.

Pakman... (off topic), I have to tell you that I laugh every time I see that darn photo of yours lately. :D

Would it be diver blasphemy to go to Malaysia and not go to Sipidan :11: (and everybody gasps). :gulp18: :dropmouth

Might not be if you want to keep your girlfriend for a while.

it's between Semporna and KK on the northern shores of Sabah. Not sure how long it would take by land...

I borrowed this map from Divetheworld.com

Cheers for the map !! Best one of seen - just on my level !
I've only got five days in Semporna, anyone know if I can make a trip to see the orange 'monkeys' and still get three days diving in ???

Bubble Junky, yeah I agree about the map! thank divetheworld. he's a members here somewhere :D

I'm not 100% sure (my info is a bit old) but I think there is an express bus between Sandakan and Semporna but I don't recall it running that often. Maybe someone more familiar with this can chime in soon.

Semporna really that bad?

The bus takes about 6 hours from sandakan to semporna but I cannot find a timetable.
You would be pushing it by bus with only 5 days total.

It might be possible by Taxi but I have no idea how much this would cost.

My wife says it will be well worth the visit if you can make it, I have still get there.

This would be pretty tough to do.** I have spent a lot of time planning my upcoming Sabah trip, and near as I can tell... you would be really hard pressed to get this all in with only 5 days. The Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary actually has "feeding" times when you have the best opportunity to see the orang utans. I know that there is one in the morning around 10:00, and possibly another later in the afternoon. It would be a shame to travel all that way and then to find that there are no orang utans available to see.

** However, anything is possible for a price.
