Cheers all,

I have a couple of questions about doing a divemaster course in the Sipadan area. I apologize if these questions have already been asked and answered.

1. How does the permit system for Sipadan Island itself apply to instructors/divemasters/divemaster trainees while guiding? (exemption, inclusion in the quotas, etc.) - I can't seem to get a straight answer on this.

2. Any advice, especially personal experience, to lend of the subject - or alternative locations.

Feel free to PM me if you'd rather keep it out of the public eye. Thanks!

FYI all instructors and divemasters working with registered dive centres, are all registered with Sabah Parks. so you'll be treat like the other clients, unless they can find a way how to deal with this situation.

When I did my DM I made a choise between Philipinnes or Borneo. I ended up in the philippines which was totally awesome. I dove in Borneo with Scubajunkies before which was great. Due the lack of nightlife and the fact I had been there already i ended in Puerto Galera

Feel free to PM me for any questions

From what I understood that permit system is a big hassle
but other sites are awesome as well
