Is there any benefit to this madness? Is it possible to reach both valves? It sure doesn't look like it!

Well that's a heluva lot nicer eh? Cleanest layout I've seen. Seems easier to reach the valves than this one even.
 
I use the H valve (the first pic you posted) and I have no problem reaching the valves.
 
I've been intrigued by these for a while now:



I'd like to get my hands on one of these from BeaverSports (beaversports.co.uk) but they don't sell them in the US and even if I could get the valve to fit a US tank, the lack of a burst disk would probably cause me a ton of headaches getting fills locally anyway.

This winter I've decided to just build my own set of doubles instead. YMMV.

I have a Thermo "H" valve on my LP120.. I havent had a chance to dive it yet but im planning to this weekend..

One thing that I did notice is that I had to turn both my XTX200 and DS4 the same direction so that they wouldnt bump into each other, I wish they added a little more room but I know that would lower the strength of the "H" adapter..
