Hey Everybody,

Bought a DiveRite Single Tank Adapter through Northeast Scuba Supply as a Blem (said it was marks from shipping). When it arrived today, I noticed it was pretty bent. Knew it was a possibility (hey, it was a blem!), but I figured I would post here; is there any risk to using a STA that is bent? Would attempting to re-bend it compromise its integrity or pose a hazard underwater? NSS says the STA is usable, but I figured I would ask.

I'm not a fan of STA's, but having said that if the STA is Stainless you can almost certainly bend it back without much concern. Stainless is very ductile. It will eventually work harden, but that would take repeated bends in the same place before any noticeable effect.

Some Harbor Freight sheet metal vice grips and you'll be back in business.

It'll be fine to rebend it.

Thanks Guys! I'll hang on to it and bend it back into shape. Main reason I went with an adapter is to take another pound off my belt. I'll pay a visit to HF later this week.
