Single diver needs vacation 'Bad'

Ineed to get away for a week. Totally burned out at work!

I have a few USD with a very limited time between job asignments.

I have from May 3rd to May 13th.

I am not going to pay to share a room with a stranger either !

Help Please !

I've heard people say that bonair and cozumel are relatively cheap diving destinations. I've also heard nothing is as cheap as Thailand, but you have to pay the airfare to get over there.

How much is a few USD?

A week at Casa Del Mar in Cozumel - R/T flight from Newark, single occupancy room, airport transfers is $617 on Orbitz when you use discount code 200Entertain. I used May3-10 as dates. Diving is with DelMar Aquatics onsite and is extra. As is food. I have no personal experience with them.

Another option might be the Ft. Lauderdale, Boynton Beach, Jupiter Beach area. A friend told me there's often cheap JetBlue flights to that area from the NE. Probably find a Motel 6 or something off the water that's reasonable. 2 tank dives with Underwater Explorers in Boynton appear to be $60. Go to Roatan! Can't get easier than a week at Coco View and being a single diver isn't a big deal...you'll have people to dive with and people to eat with.

You could also call PADI Travel and have them hook you up with a shop that is trying to fill a trip for that week you are looking. The shop could be anywhere, but you'd meet up with them at the destination.

A Blackbeard's cruise is also a good option for the single diver.

I've got a friend who owns a condo in Negril Jamaica (at a resort, which has a dive OP on-site). It's got a kitchen, t.v., and furniture. Nice little place. You can buy groceries, or eat at the resort.

these are all really good ideas. By pure luck my local dive shop had one opening for a trip to BONAIRE. They hooked me up !!! I leave on May 1st.
