There are lots of reasons that I dive with an H valve on singles, including redundancy, consistency, and convenience.

The LP DIN valves can be easily and quickly converted for use with a standard yoke regulator set-up with a donut and a hex key.

The downside is that they cost a little more.

If all of your diving is restricted to warm shallow water, then I don't think it's worth the aggravation. A first stage blowout will end your dive in these conditions, but not your life - especially if you keep your buddy close. If your diving ever includes cold water, deeper water or any technical diving, then DIN H valves are the way to go.

great pix, great info.

Its coming together - all the different valve designs I'm seeing and their purposes. The entire modular design of this set up (H-Valve - dingles, doubles, DIN, Yolk, etc.) is making complete sense.

I'm currently diving with a standard HP DIN valve. I'll likely stick with this and simply add a second on the necklace when I get the BP&W rig together. If I ever go doubles, it'll be awhile.

Thanks for the input!
