Anyone know of a simple gauge I could bring with me when I pick up tanks? I want to measure pressures before leaving the shop. It's a pain to bring my whole regulator.

Find a old first stage regulator and attach a pressure guage. Check out DIY posts.

Make sure you attach a 2nd stage or some sort of pressure relief.

Attach a Dive Alert to blow in the shop if the fill is short

I'd be shocked if the shop didn't have at least one pressure checker for tanks. You could always just ask them to show the pressure to you if they won't let you borrow it
