I'm looking for a basic computer that gives me the necessary information in a easy to use (and see) package. I would like a downloadable computer, but it doesn't have to hold too many dives (more than 10 or so).

I found a genesis ReAct pro for $125 on a wristband. Is this a good deal for what i'm looking for, or should I look for something else.

Any help with model names, prices, and places to find a computer is greatly appreciated.

If you can, check them out in person to verify ease of use (legibility, etc.).

Genesis, Aeris, Oceanic computers are all made the same company and are very easy to use. I have had an Aeris for almost 10 years now and I love it. Easy to read and easy to scroll through the screens and dive information. They are also PC Downloadable.

Good luck.

I rate my Suunto Mosquito. Small, clear, easy to use, downloadable and will also do nitrox, which will enable you to move on later.

Another inexpensive choice is the Suunto Gekko. Suunto tends to be a little more conservative, and also very easy to use during surface interval for dive planning, and after dive for logging.

Second the comment about trying before you buy. One of the decisions you need to think about is console mount vs. wrist mount. Lots of choices and Pro's and Con's to all the dive computer models, but I think that a dive computer is an essential piece of gear especially for repetitive diving.

Dive safe.

I've got the Atom 2 and love it. Easy to read and easy to use. Will do Nitrox (I'm not ready for that yet, but I will be eventually and I'm glad my DC will be able to come with me) and is PC downloadable.

I have a Nitek Duo and love it. Does Nitrox as well. Something you might think about down the road. More expensive, but you won't have to buy another one.

I bought the VEO 250 console and I'm very happy with it. To qualify that comment, I am also a relatively new diver and haven't used any others. The USB chord is about an additional $100.

One suggestion -even if you are not nitrox certified yet, I would still recommend you purchase a nitrox capable computer. The difference in cost is not usually that much when making the initial computer purchase. If you decide you want to "upgrade" later, that usually means purchasing a whole new computer.
Just a recommendation that may save you some money in the long run.

I use the Oceanic Pro Plus 2 - large display, easy to read and air integrated. If you don't need air integrated, the Oceanic Geo is also a nice computer and fairly stylish as a watch also.
