Similan Island Diving recommendation

I'd be interested in your views on diving the Similan Islands in January via liveaboard. I've read quite different views regarding the Similans, ranging from ideal to terrible. Anyone familiar with thche area?
Is there a big difference between January and March?

I was diving the area at the beginning of January and I found the dives are very easy. I was with Khao Lak Dive Adventures. No special certification needed (OW is enough) but you can have Nitrox if you want, provided you are certified for it.
Never been there on March, so I cannot do any comparison.
