I just saw an announcement on another site (yes, I occasionally "cheat" on ScubaBoard when I have time to visit other sites) for an UW video housing that seems incredibly flexible for those whose camcorders have LANC connectors (Sony and some Canons, maybe others). It is called the Silverfish and this is the web site:

http://www.silverfish.info/flash.html

I'm not in the market for a new housing as I'm quite happy with my two Top Dawgs from Backscatter (made by Light & Motion), which is very similar to this housing in terms of its adaptability and range of camcorders it can accept. However, this one is worth looking at.

Actually that's a 2.5" TFT LCD with a hood around it.

There is no viewfinder.

There were some selling on eBay last winter. I sort of had the impression the seller was their Canadian dealer.

The display is "480 width x 234 height with anti-glare" so I think the answer is no. One thing not immediately apparent is that it comes with an u/w microphone. The light arms mount to the holes in the base of the handles. Follow the link to the Videotec website for light options.

I think it's cool looking. Sort of thinking outside the box. Housings can be functional and elegant.
