ANDERSON, S.C. -- Divers found the body of a Greenville teen who died while swimming at Darwin Wright Park in Anderson on Monday.
Divers searched the water in an area known as Anderson Beach at Lake Hartwell.
Anderson police said they got a call at 2:50 p.m. from Lake Hartwell, where a teen and several other people were swimming.
Witnesses said the teen was swimming from the beach to a bridge area and was on a piece of Styrofoam when he fell off. Police said that 18-year-old Rishun Sullivan, of Greenville, called for help and then disappeared underwater.
Police said the water in the area where Sullivan disappeared is about 30 feet deep.
Investigators said Sullivan's body was found about 50 to 75 feet from the area where he went underwater in about 15 feet of water.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
