The first and second one look very much like my beloved North Coast. But on the third one, what's that white stuff on the ground?

Don't confuse Southern California with Northern California, two completely different animals.

This is my local mudhole ... about five minutes drive from my home. Taken by my friend Valerie ... that's me wading into the water ...

This is Neah Bay ... at the northwestern tip of the Olympic Peninsula ...

Nootka Sound, Vancouver Island ... a long drive from home, but still local enough you don't need to fly to get there ...

Port Hardy, north Vancouver Island ... not exactly local, but we drive to get there ...

Since Eric showed a lot of the spots I dive the ocean on the North Coast, I'll give you my second choice, Lake Sonoma, when the ocean isn't cooperating or I'm jammed for time.

And after finding anchors, fishing gear, sunglasses and other usable, and unusable, debris, sometimes there are interesting finds.

Of course a trip out to the Norlina at Salt Point is always fun, may be this year I'll finish my book.

There is no problem that can't be solved with a liberal application of sex, tequila, money, duct tape, or high explosives, not necessarily in that order.

Though it's been a couple years since then, I lived and dove here for six and a half years. (most of which I ran boats and guided dives on either a full or part time basis.)

Saba, Netherlands Antilles. (12 minute flight south of St. Maarten)

Saba Island.jpg

Warm water diving ... that's my entire dive kit on the back of the bike!

I love Saba. Probably the prettiest island in the Caribbean.
