Nice work! You should be proud!

Let me add my congratulations to you and to me. I just completed the PADI DM also!!!

Congratulations Ed !!! I'm curious, at what point in your diving did you feel it was the right time to move on to DM? How many dives did you have under your weight belt?

And as impressive as you getting your DM is your avatar. Pretty cool. (I'm an engineer, so stuff like that gets me going. Go figure...)

I don't want to start a furious debate but I decided to do my DM rather early on, 50 dives.

I understand that some people look at this as a rather dubious decision to make however I feel that my abilities in the water warrant my decision to take the DM.

I was a competative swimmer for years and consider myself to be a very confident in the water. On top of that I got on very well with scuba when I first started and had little problems with my bouyancy.

I am not noting this to seem bigheaded I just say it to justify my decision to move onto the professional level.

I thought I was ready to move on, both in my abilites and in my attitude to the activity.

Ed.
