I am looking at two drysuits that are exactly the same except one has the shoulder dump which is the stock location and the other has it moved to the forearm. I was wondering what is best and for what situations?

The shoulder dump is very easy to dump. Some would consider that a plus, some a minus.

I like it. I can keep both hands on an object and just lift my elbow to dump.

Some people love the forearm dump; the industry standard seems to favor the stock shoulder dump.

I've dove/owned with both types and I prefer the shoulder dump. I just couldn't get used to the position I had to put my arm in to dump and if I was carrying anything I had to switch hands. Shoulder dump is much easier for me.
