some parrotfish species are, yeah

to tell you the truth, i don't know if stoplight parrotfish are or not

I believe parrotfish are "sequential transexuals", or some other fancy sounding word like that, where they are all female to start and only some turn into males as needed to sustain the population.

It's called "protogynous hermaphroditism". All are born female. Some transition to males. Some will remain female, with initial phase coloration, even though they can be larger than terminal phase males in the area.
