short trip that's cheap

I want to go on a dive trip soon-maybe February.

Can't be too far away, or too exotic or too expensive.

Where should I go?

My first choice is Cozumel.

Any other ideas?

From your position on the globe nothing's really close. I don't know how the deals are up in your neck of the woods, but down here, Cozumel is about the cheapest and the closest. I can find dirt cheap deals outta Dallas to Coz but airfare on any of the other Carribean destinations will eat ya up.

On www.selloffvacations.com you can go from Toronto, Ontario to Cozumel Jan 26, for 1 week all inclusive for $618. Canadian.

Check with MLT (worry free vacations) as they are the travel/tour arm of Northwest. They own Champion Air also which they fly as a charter to a lot of the popular southern spots. I believe you would be very familar with Nortwest in your area. In the last week I have seen RT air from Detroit to Cancun for $179 7 nights with air starting at maybe $450 from MLT.

try West Palm Beach. Gulfstream comes within 1/2 mile of shore. Water is warm (70 degrees right now). 10 minute ride from the marina. Incredible marine life. Lots of turtles, sharks, and eels. Inexpensive for the amount of sea life that you will experience. Drift diving. Dive there one time and you will continue to come back.
I live in Atl but work for a company out of Minneapolis. I don't blame you I would want to get out of there right now. Have come up there first week of Feb but have a week on a liveaboard (West Palm) last week of Feb.
