Thanks for all the helpful insight so far . I found a thread at the end of this one that led me to cozumelmycozumel.com that also was helpful. It looks like a choice between back to Aruba that we love or trying somewhere in Cozumel.
Cozumelmycozumel.com is an excellent resource for snorkellers (and other things).

I'm sure I sound like a cheerleader for The Presidente but they have really nice snorkelling out front of their property.

The snorkelling between Villablanca & Caribe Blu isn't too shabby either.

If you have been diving in Cozumel, you will be disappointed with the quality of diving in Aruba. Curacao has much better diving, and nearly the same topside activity. Bonaire has the best diving of the 3 ABC islands, but much less else to do other than dive.
