Hi, this is Mike and I'm going to Aruba for some diving in early November. Has anyone had any experience diving from shore there? Any good spots to dive? Place to rent tanks? Appreciate anything anyone may be able to tell me.

Thanks!
Mike

Mike, obviously not too many interested in shore diving Aruba. Hope you had a great time. I am going to Aruba in june and would like to know if you found some good shore dives. I have dove with Clive in Aruba before and just returned from Curacao. Did 4 shore dives there and really enjoyed it. My girlfriend and I would like to do a lot of shore dives there. I also hope anyone else can add some info. Thanks.

Pete

Mangel Halto on the south shore is a nice dive. Easy access, gentle slope, variety of sea life, and light current when I have been there. Others that I haven't done yet are Rocky Beach and Hole in the Wall which I hear are great also. I'll do those in February.

Hi again, it's Mike.

Yes I dove in Aruba a few weeks ago but opted for going out with Red Sail charters instead. We had not rented a car and it was easier to just hop a shuttle to the dive boat. Plus I was with my wife who is getting back into diving slowly after a near drowning experience she had on a North Carolina trip. She's OK thank God. Let me just say that CPR does work and it does pay to take the Rescue Diver course! She panicked on a dive and took in too much water on the surface. I can elaborate in another forum if anyone is interested. It is pretty important to share the story.

Did anyone ever determine who to rent tanks from in Aruba? shorediving.com lists some sites. I know there is a nice drift dive from Pos Chiquito to Mangel Halto.
