Shore diving between Virginia Beach and NC?

Hi,

I am looking for spots and dive buddies that want to shore dive in the area between Virginia Beach and North Carolina.

Not looking into extreme diving, just fun dives - so if you are the 100% tech hardcore diver, not what I am looking for.

Times: Weekends, maybe late afternoons.

Not into diving off boats and trips for hours.

Wondering if I am the only one here?

I shore dive as much as any around here, I think and there isn't a lot of decent/bad shore dives around VB, but there are a ton of crap vis, 0-6" black water dives that we do if you are interested. We just got back from diving the Potomac today. We had about 2" >>>inches of vis. If we start glowing, I am calling DAN! We did the East River last weekend. Both are recon trips to check sites and conditions for later dive planning.

If you hit the OBX on the right day at around the 11 mile marker. The Huron is a beach dive but again, don't expect very good vis.....at best.

But then again, I rec dive, tech dive, boat dive and drive all over the east coast TO dive. Local is better, I must say!

Check with wanchesehmc over on NCDivers.com. He lives on the outer banks and does a lot of shore diving looking for old shipwrecks. He has shown a willingness to buddy up in the past. Actual name is Marc. Also DMs sometimes on The Under Pressure dive boat so a very knowledgable diver.

He would be the best guy to find out about the OBX shore dives. Marc is a great guy and very easy going.

I'm in Virginia Beach as well looking for fun dives. I am currently getting my girlfriend qualified as well. I don't know much about diving locally so I am researching spots. I am up for hitting up OBX.
