OK. I now officially hate Gordon. 14 nights!!! If you can take off and afford 14 nights in Cozumel, I'm quitting my job, will pick up my guitar again and go back to gigging for a living. You're band is either doing outstanding or you won a lottery. In any case, more power to you mon ami! By the way, from one head of white hair to another...my DM last month called me "onion top." Claims that's what the local folks call men with white hair (yes, my hair white not grey).

Ha! There's no way my music "career" could fund a trip to Cozumel; in another of my lives I am an engineer for a semiconductor company. With 20+ years in my job, I've worked my way up to a pretty good amount of PTO (paid time off), and I use a big chunk of it every May for a trip to Cozumel with family and friends.

My hair (what's left of it) isn't white. I'm pretty gray, though....

I thought so, in regards to the income factor. And for your hair, I just saw the sides from the Fat Tuesday pixs you posted and if I'm not mistaken you were wearing one of those "diginified" head coverings. I'm in the same hair boat with ya, pal. Just makes it easier to strap on a mask.

I have to agree ... these companies suck you in with the PTO after you've been there awhile. I couldn't even consider changing jobs at this point, I'd lose too many vacation benefits and I just can't give up any dive trips!!!

I That $99 fare will be considerably more on the dotted line, I'll wager.

Yeah, standard fees and such added another $100 per ticket.

But still, can you really beat 198.50 direct into COZ from Denver ? :drunks:

It's Ryan air, a charter, but they've done well when we used them in the past.
[I just looked and you can get 3/30 - 4/6 for $240 each inc all fees]

That's the only reason we're going. We usually hold out for 10 days or so November, but it looks like we're gonna have to go twice this year !

Then again the money we saved on airfare, we more than spent on scuba gear.
Got 2 new Mares Regs, 2 Octos, 2 Computers, QR hoses, and 2 awesome 4c LED dive lights for about 900 all done. No more Mexican rental gear weeeeee :scubadive

[Yeah, I'm a good shopper]

There are still a couple things to see on the shore at Carbie Blue.

I've been trying to book a cheap trip to Coz, and right now they aren't flying in to
Coz, have to go to Cancun and take the ferry over. But I'll keep checking. Was hoping to book the trip from Oklahoma City, as it is closer than Denver or St Louis, but
it is not available right now. Check out Worry free vacations.com Jim

Just purchased 4 tix at 789.00 from St louie to Cancun from worry free !!!! April 9th -16th Spring break week even !!!!!! ManitouDan

That seems a crazy deal. You guys are really good. Where did you get the hotel package?
Diver Kat:
Yeah, I understand. We'll be at Caribe Blu next Wednesday, and normally that's where we go, it's a super deal and the people are great. But when we found the Casa Mexicana package one night, we couldn't pass on it. We've done a few 9 or 10 day stays in Coz, but if I'm trying to squeak out 4 vacations in year, I have to break it up into separate weeks .... and sometimes it's dictated by what days the fares are cheaper.... planning vacations is so rough!!;)

It was an airfare-hotel package we found on Orbitz one night ... it wasn't showing Casa Mexicana on the 'specials' list, but when we searched for it, it came back with the deal. It was crazy - the airfare was the same whether we flew from Houston or Austin, and the hotel portion was ridiculously cheap. By the time we booked it that night it had even dropped the price a bit, but by the next day the deal was gone ...

just got back... shore diving was good there.
Critters included Drum, Octopus, goldentail moray, spotted eel, spider shrimp, many many fish of all flavors and colors.

I'll post some pictures later on... too tired now from traveling all day.

Oh and by the way, all the tanks you can suck down on shore dives are free if you stay at the hotel. WOOT!
