I will be going to Kauii in May and am wondering what shore diving is available. I have snorkeled Tunnels Beach and have heard it can be done as a dive as well.

May is the beginning of the good conditions for Tunnels, still a possible chance of late winter swells, but the afternoon winds might not be as strong as high summer. In other words your odds are good. Local weather can still have negative impact on any side of the island. Most of the shore dive sites are on the south side and the summer swells should not be excessive yet. Plan for Tunnels but be prepared to drive south if necessary.
