It's like he's trying to speak to me, I know it.

That's exactly how the diving is, but weve swapped the turtles for sharks and seals.

This is Junior ... he and I were dive buddies a few years ago ...

... I sure enjoyed his playful, youthful enthusiasm ... but he's bigger than I am now, and a real pain in the arse ...

Back on topic ... Puget Sound has lots of shore diving. But most folks who aren't used to cold, turbid water wouldn't enjoy it ...

I did two dives out at the Edmonds Underwater Park, to this day it remains one of my most favorite dives of all time! 43 degree water, 7mm wetsuit, a really big grouper, a bunch of different kinds of crabs, lots of really small nudibranches (blew my mind, these things did), and a sunken boat. My wife wasn't too thrilled about it though, and only did one dive.

Probably not what comes to mind when you think "all expense paid vacation spot".. :D

What makes Junior a pain? Just curious. Never dove waters with those guys in it.

Harbor seals love divers ... they follow us around for the entire dive, using our dive lights to hunt for food.

Unfortunately, they stir up a LOT of silt. They're cute as hell, and for the first minute or so they're a lot of fun to watch ... especially when they're young ... but after swimming through their silt for a few minutes you will find yourself wishing they'd just go play with someone else ...

And then there's the extra few hundred pounds attached to a small dog type head a foot away from your face smiling at you.

And then there's also the issue of their cheap split fins that make me appear to have the agility of someone about to leave an aged care facility.
