Shore dive suggestions

Hi there, I apologize for not introducing myself sooner, I have been silently reading for a while now. I would like a few opinions from you guys. I have the honor of having my cousin whom is also my dive partner, with some very good connections on Bonaire, he always sets my up with a great place to stay with some fantastic people every year. I think this was my 7th year in a row to dive there. From what I am told, that place is about as good as it gets for shore diving,, I personally have never dove anywhere else except for Cozumel on a resort dive. This brings me to my question. The company I work for sends all thier employees on an all expense paid for trip to wherever they want to go after putting in 25 years of service, I would like for my wife and myself to get away for a while and dive, however I don't do boats well, and I am afraid if I go somewhere else I will always be comparing my diving to Bonaire. I would like a little change of pace and find something with perhaps a little nicer beaches, but am at a loss as far a where to start looking. I heard St.Croix? perhaps. Any one with some opinions and could give me a little advice and compare to Bonaire.

If they are ready to pay for air, go Australia or some other remote destination. I don't think you will find anything comparable to Bonaire shore diving around Carribean. Some South Pacific locations may have good shore diving.

Besides Bonaire, the other places I can think of that have more than just a couple shore dives are Curacao (same reef, better beaches, more people) St. Croix's north side + the Pier (no personal experience afaik only a dozen or so shore dives) or Grand Cayman (about 20? sites). If they're paying for it, the Ritz on GC is pretty nice...lol. Beautfiul beaches also along most of Seven Mile beach.

What about Hawaii? There's a few dozen shore dives off Maui, almost that many on the Big Island and about 15-20 off Kauai. Great beaches on all three islands also.

I know St Croix you can do a pretty sick wall dive right off the beach. My uncle lives there and dives it pretty regularly. I myself haven't done it, but am basing this on what he has told me.

Roatan has some shore diving, but the best dives are boat dives. And there's really not much for the non-diver there. I really like the place, but given the OP's information I wouldn't recommend it as an alternative to Bonaire.

As someone else said, Maui has some nice shore dives. I wouldn't compare the diving in Maui favorably to Bonaire, however ... but the beaches are really nice, and there's plenty of non-diving activities available.
