We get in around 4pm next Saturday (woot!). By the time we get settled/groceries/food etc...most dive ops seem to be closed. We would like to do an afternoon (7pm?) dive on that Saturday.

Recommendation on who would be open at that time so we can rent a tank and do a shore dive?

Diver Steve, thanks. I will email them, but doubtful they would be open after 6pm or so to actually rent the tank.
We dont' even mind doing an on site op...just haven't found one open in the evenings :)

Wait...never mind. I am fb friends with them already. I checked your link and it says they are open until 9pm? SWEET! Thank yoU!!

Eden Rock (the other place to rent tanks) is open to 5:30. They're downtown but there won't be any cruise ships in on Saturday so if Customs goes quick, you should be able to get there in time. You might want to call them if it's going to be close since some of downtown shuts down early when the ships leave.  Cayman Equipment Rental

You might do that before groceries, the markets are open till 11PM. Foster's Food Fair Notice that they're closed on Sundays...

IDK anything about these people except they're affiliated with Sundivers at Turtle Reef. Happy Fish Divers | Grand Cayman Scuba Diving
We also offer guided NIGHT DIVES at one of the island's best shore dives - Turtle Reef!

Don't mean to hijack, but I will be down there as well Saturday! Flying in from so cal. This is my first dive vacation. I have signed up for some boat dives through ocean frontiers as I am staying on the east end. I am interested in doing shore dives as well. Are there any spots that are a "must" to check out? I am also looking for a dive op for a stingray city dive. Any recommendations?
