I just don't like having to tip over.

Leah, why are you tipping over? The squeeze rinse bottle is SO easy to use. And totally upright. Are you getting it mixed up with the pot? That syringe looks like a major PITA.

I am using the Nasaline syringe and standing upright. It is really easy to use.

I didn't get the pot because I didn't want to lean over to do it.

Someone who wants to remain unknown told me they used a turkey baister(sp?). How do you explain that to your SO when you walk out of the bathroom with it???

I talked with someone who has used a couple of different things and the Nasaline was the one they liked the best. It really has worked well for me.

One thing I found out is that after using it you really need to bend your head down (like you are looking at your feet) and exhale a few times. I've thought all was right with the world, bent down to pick something up and suddenly had a small flow of solution dripping out of my head. Hard to explain in public places.

Merxlin, I have had that problem a few times myself and bending over after the rinse and blow with tissue in hand just to make sure all is empty.

Just for fun, if someone saw the drizzle, I have thought about telling them that I was abducted by greenish blue people and some of them now live in my head after my visit to the ship. And that sometimes they pee while I out in public--and since they are in my head--it runs out of my nose!

I had the drizzle happen a little more when I first started, but almost never now. Bending over for a second seems to clear it out.

I just tried the Nasaline for the first time a few minutes ago.

VERY weird experience. :11:
My left nostril is completely open and my right is still a bit clogged. I used the recommended 2 cups of water and ~1 teaspoon of non-iodized salt. I didn't have a measuring spoon on hand so I guessed. Thankfully I under-guessed because I have no burning sensation. :D

I will do it again in a few minutes with more salt this time...

Sparti, welcome to the world of rinsers! There is no turning back!

Seriously, when I am feeling a bit clogged or when I had the sinus infection a couple of weeks ago, I do multiple rinses in a day. When I had the sinus infection, I also rinsed anytime I woke up in the night to potty. In a couple of days I was well again.

I have to agree with the poster above. Rinsing really has changed my life for the better.

Well I tried it again...

Same thing. Left nostril wide open, right totally clogged.
I'll keep doing this and see what happens...if for no other reason than it entertaining my roommates. :D

Sparti, are you "doing it right"?? I think not! You are doing it either wrong or left it seems! LOL

Since you are entertaining your roommates, lay on the bed with your head hanging off and then drip it in your nose until it is full on both sides. Let is soak as long as you can and then roll over with some tissues in hand and a towel. Repeat a few times. Then report back on both your nose and your roommates reactions.

I forgot to mention that I did it a bit too fast last time and had some come out my tear duct. How quickly do you do it?

Not sure I can manage what you just suggested. I have a tendency to laugh at bad times -- like that, or perhaps when I'm drinking something. Usually that means an explosion of liquid follows. I suppose THAT would certainly be entertaining...:rofl3:

I'll wait to do it again when I have a measuring spoon handy later tonight.
