To alleviate a continuing mask fogging problem I decided to put a couple of desiccant packs in my mask before descending. This worked quite well as the packs sat neatly in the lens well pretty much out of my field of view. The problem I had was when I rotated to look for my buddy one of the packs shifted and touched my eye and really irritated it. The watering eye was really counter productive to the desiccant packs.

Any Ideas how to keep these desiccant packs in place through out the dive?

Why don't you just scrub your mask a few more times? Then try using some commercial defog product (or baby shampoo). That should fix the fog problem.
