Decided to go ahead and get the Freedom. Got to do some lake diving with it this past weekend and loved. Mind you, all I have to compare it with are cheap rental bc's. I loved not having to deal with the squeeze and the integrated weights certainly works for me. For me, it seems to tip me forward when it's fully inflated but not so bad when not. Looking forward to do some more diving with it.

decided to get one for me. had a 10 yr us divers bc. time to upgrade to weight integrated and back inflated. the pictures look good. hope it fits me.

The fact that it tilts you forward is what will set it apart from the rentals you have used which are more than likely jacket style. It helps with your underwater profile (keeps you horizontal). If it pushes you too far forward you may have too much weight in the trim pockets

I bought an Avid for my first BC and really like it. I tried iton in an authorized dealer's shop to get the sizing right, then bought it from their website at a 30% discount from their store!! I NEVER get squeeze, but then again, if you get your weights right, you really dont need enough air in your BC to squeeze you!! Less is more with weight. the release on the wieghts is very solid, and contrary to what others have said, with a little practice, you CAN insert and lock the pouches while WEARING the BC. Work on it in your living room ten or twenty times, and it will come naturally on the boat. Quality wise, the BC is great. Fit wise, also great. Just make sure you TRY on on before you drom a couple hundred dollars on it.

I've rented the avid numerous times.
I quite like it & it will probably be the one I buy (hopefully quite soon). Although I may have to try out the women's style BC's out of curiousity.
I find the avid comfortable enough with, including the integration. I wasn't aware velcro was a concern when using some integration systems. The avid has buckles. And most people I dive with use a similar design or a Zeagle Tech type set up with the uh which-a-ma-call-it... ugh, brain fried, time to go back to the homework.
