I just saw a segment on ANC(All News Channel) that Sherwood is recalling 14,000 Maximus regualtors. Recall is due to reports of two regulators breaking during a dive. There was a 800 number listed but I didn't catch it.

Sherwood has posted information about this recall here.

Reports of second stage orifice failure led to this recall. Failure of a second stage orifice would likely result in a free flow condition requiring an immediate ascent.

The part in question is a different design than the orifice intended for use in the Sherwood Brut, Oasis, Magnum, or Blizzard but a creative technician may have used one of these questionable parts in a Brut, Oasis, Magnum, or Blizzard.

If you have had your Brut, Oasis, Magnum, or Blizzard regulator modified so that an adjustment knob was added to the side of the regulator body, you may have one of these faulty parts in your regulator. If so, have your regulator serviced by a qualified technician.
