I got a Sherwood Blizzard Magnum set (1st, 2nd, octo) used from craigslist. Came with a bunch of other stuff. It's about 10 years old, kinda like your stuff. Didn't really need the regulator set. I took it in for service at the LDS - he said that it is a rock solid setup for cold water. He also said that, fortunately, it's one of the cheapest regs to service too. So, I'm now using the octo on my main rig (didn't have one before). My plan is to get the other two stages serviced and use them as a travel reg set for my wife (trip only diver) and as a pony bottle setup for local diving. LDS said it is a great pony rig. Just echoing comments from above really.

But it can freeze. The kit is just a teflon coated lever that is in the second stage......right where your breath goes in and out, and also where a HUGE potential for freezing can occur.....with just the standard stainless, you have a greater potential to ice up

Risks of any reg but I have yet to see the freeze up. May I never see it because I dive with this reg and don't care what the water temp is, and I dive wet.

I contacted Sherwood last week regarding the temp that the SRB5100 could be used at. I was told up to 40F was good.
