Hi, can anyone tell me if the Blizzard has the same "moisture retention" system as the Oasis, and therefore does it help prevent a dry mouth?
Thanks.

tstormwarning:
I have an Oasis, & have been told they are fundimentally the same (just a couple of differences in the first stage to handle the cold).
Hi, thanks for that.

I use the blizzard and get a dry mouth, but I am new. Maybe with more experience it will get better

While no reg is foolproof in terms of drymouth...the Blizzard has moisture retention and an additional heat sink (Oasis does not have heat sink). I used a 2004 model and it was a little better than other regs...great overall reg.

Cheers.

Blizzard, Oasis, Magnum and Maximus have the identical 1st stage. With the Sherwood dry bleed you have a very reliable cold water 1st stage.

The Oasis is the 1st model to incorporate the fins which accumulate and return some moisture to the diver.. The Blizzard has the same fins for moisture retention but they do double duty as a heat sink and include plating to resist frosting. Blizzard also includes Teflon on the demand valve lever and omits the 2nd stage strain relief to let the fitting operate as a heat sink in open water.

The Maximus has the Blizzard features and more.

Thanks for the info. Does the fact that the Blizzard is doing more than one job, as it were, with the fins, mean that it is not as effective as the Oasis at preventing the dry mouth?
