Narcosis, Lil Sis, and Me/MissDirected
Headed out to the Sheridan, which we all know has quickly become my favorite place. Took about an hour and ten to get out as the seas were a bit rough. Temperature was a bit cooler at 86F. As usual loads of different types of baitfish, the Spanish Mackerel were the main characters giving chase on this day. It was a gray day out so the the tug wasn't as bright and beautiful. Our first sighting was the tell tale "S". Narcosis took it's pic. I had decided to go around the bow and to the port side first as we headed that way we ran into hundreds and hundreds of large moon jellies. They must have been having some sort of convention or something as I kid you not, every single one that lives in the ocean was there :winky:
We completed our round and I searched some of the rubble, desperately looking for the octopi spotted by GulfCoastDiver and his wife, with no luck so we returned to the tug. Just as we were about to end the dive, I spotted a small octopus out of the corner of my eye. I think lil sis thought I was a bit odd, as I hovered inches above where he went to hide in hopes of him coming out. He camouflaged himself so well she had no idea what I was looking at. Finally, he changed color and she was able to see him
Life is so, so good.
We had planned a three tanker but called it after the second dive due to incoming storms.
Ride in was a bit rough. Not too bad just took us a few extra minutes to get in.
Always enjoy going out with Narcosis. Always.
Oh one more thing, the current was kicking pretty good. Prolly about 5 knots. I was doing a lil drift diving. :0)
