it does not come with a transmitter. I bought two, the one I'm keeping is on top of the box. I'd rather not crack it open until someone is ready to buy. we all know what comes in the box, which is everything you need to use it.

Asking date of purchase is a reasonable request to understand if any warranty is still left when looking at prices.
