Hi y'all, I haven't been on these boards in months. Ok, so I'm in Iraq doing some work for the government. I'm getting a little break and I want to go down to Mexico to get some diving in. Problem is, right before I left, I was searching for my C-card, and it turns out my ex-wife took it with her when she left.;)

Now, I've been to the NAUI website, and check the "lost card" page, which didn't help much, because, well, I don't have any documentation from my course or dives - it went with the card. The shop I'm looking to dive with, I went out with them about a year and a half ago, but I think they do a lot of volume and I doubt they remember me.

So yeah, there's my problem. Any suggestions? :06: Thanks y'all

I suppose it wasn't an amiable break-up? I would imagine NAUI, if oyu contact them, have a record of your having a card and should be able to get you a new one. I know PADI does keep records of who has what but can't speak for NAUI.

Email both Naui and the Shop. They both should be able to look you up in their records. Give them your name, birth date, shop name handling certification. And ask Naui about expedited services....??

Good luck... :thumb:

C-cards are as easy to replace as wives man, call the shop first and get your instructor to fax NAUI your student record.

Exactly, don't know about your shop but we have records from students going back to the 70's.:confused2 Most reputable shops will keep their student records indefinitely. After all stuff happens.:thinkingo :kopfab: :spaninq: :broken_he Fires, floods, and ex-wives who are as bad as a fire or flood. There is also the fact that you are always a potential customer and having your records makes good sense. We can also show for liability reasons the level of training you received. We have even been able to assist in procuring cards for people from other agencies by calling them and explaining the situation.:D Good luck and congratulations that she's your EX-wife!!:bigun2:

I know that for PADI a shop has to keep your records for 7 years for liability purposes. I would assume it is the same for NAUI since that is an insurance thing and not an agency thing.

Even if the LDS doesn't exist any more, NAUI should be able to replace the card. Contact them directly, there should be an email contact on their site.

I went through this with an old NASDS card. Mine was old enough that the records were destroyed in a fire, SSI absorbed NASDS. I had the remnants of my old card & knew the instructors name. Contacted them & they told me what to do, a month later I had a new SSI card.

Easier and cheaper.

C-card goes in your wallet just like a drivers license :)

Don't ex-wives usually get the wallet too? So that wouldn't work. :D
