My dw and I realllllllllly want to dive with sharks.:sharkattack: While Epcot and the Mall of America would provide the experience, I was hoping to get insight into the most bang vs. bucks for a trip in late September to swim with sharks.

The baseline to beat is flying to Nassau and diving with Stuarts Cove. Fairly economical at $1100/pp airfare, room, board, and diving included (5nts) *not exact quote but +/- $150/pp*

Possibilities could be the Fla Keys, Bermuda, Flower Gardens on a liveaboard, Cabo ... what does the scubaboard community think?

Try Narcosis dive charters out of West Palm Beach Florida. After a no show on Juno Ledge, they took us out to shark alley. Lots of black tip reef sharks out there. Nice folks too, they saved my dive by loaning me a reg when mine started free flowing, at no extra charge. It's a drift dive and tons of fun.

Do you want to dive with sharks in the wild with no feeding or do you want a shark show where you set on the bottom and have them baited up to you? If you want close and personal with non fed sharks acting naturally, then come to NC. We have several wrecks that hold populations of sand tigers that routinely come very close to divers, often within a few feet. No cages, no food or chum, just you and the shark swimming close to each other.

I too have really enjoyed diving with sharks in the immediate area. I have dove in the Bahamas with UNEXSO 15 years ago and enjoyed it. But from my experience, if you are looking for some diving with sharks, the Pacific really holds the key. Look at diving off the northeast side of Australia, while we have done one specific shark dive at Osprey (30 to 40 sharks), there were many dives...close to every dive (aboard Diversity), that sharks were near/sighted/sometimes really close , within touching distance. I remember one night dive inparticular where there were hunting white tips, to watch their speed and agility was very exciting. At Shark Reef there was a couple of hugh Silver Tips that even put the Divemaster on alert.
In PNG (StarDancer) we had a couple of dives that you had to bump or hit the sharks away. On one night dive there we encountered an aggressive Silver tip while diving, the shark was at the back of the boat before boarding.
Like I stated we've been to a shark dive in the Bahamas, but also diving in Turks and Caicos with Caicos Adventures we had shark sightings on about half of the dives.

What herman said. Sand tigers circling you....perhaps dozens in one spot. Scary at first but then unbelieveably cool. Check out Caribsea off Moorhead City.

Can't beat tying a pork chop to a Poodle.

Works every time.

May I suggest something that many are too impatient to try? Just relax, go diving, be very wide-eyed when one comes past you in the wild- unexpectedly. It will happen eventualy.

If that doesn't make it for you, Epcot has several unofficial franchises located around the world. Just look for the SHARK DIVE -> signs.

There are plenty out there~ and for free!
