This question probably has NEWBIE writen all over it but I have to ask. Do great white sharks ever enter Monterey Bay? It seems to me that there is a lot of shark food in the bay, and kelp beds, seals, sea lions, otters, dolfins.

I'm sure that Great White sharks patrol the area on occasion.
However, there have been very few Great White encounters.

There have been a total of 9 shark incidents recorded in history in Monterey county,
and only two of them were on SCUBA. (1 was actually during scootering in blue water, so doesn't fit the profile of an average diver.)
