I was watching a show about an attempted shark attack in South Africa a couple months ago. It dragged on and on and they kept asking, "why did the sharks single out this surfer among all the others"? ?This guy had two separate attack attempts actually. They speculated it might have been urine, since he said he'd peed in his suit but all surfers and divers do that. But what about if you're shivering in the water? Would it send out the same little shock waves under water that a distressed fish does, especially one that was just speared and is trembling in its death throes? This seems to be a shark magnet and I don't think it's the blood. I've seen sharks show up after shooting fish when there is no current that would have carried the blood very far. ??? These little shock waves can travel far and fast and any shark around would pick it up. Just a thought.
