Does anybody know if there is anywhere in Oahu that offers shark dives without having to be in a cage?

You will find that the answers here are pretty much the same as the answers you got in Basic Scuba.

First of all there is no Oahu shark diving in a cage; there are a couple shark cage operators but there is no diving unless you call an 8' free dive to the bottom of the cage a dive.

There are regular Oahu dives where you have a greater chance of seeing white tip reef sharks than on other regular Oahu dives, but any operator who claims they will take you on a "shark dive" at any site other than something like the Barbers Point fish farms is just taking your money and praying they will find sharks for you to see.

^^^^^^^ +1

Sharks are regular sightings at many dive sites on Oahu, including Fantasy Reef, Makaha Caverns, the Mahi Shipwreck, and more. However, they tend to be on their own schedule and thus there is never a guaranteed shot at seeing a shark. Dive here enough at varied sites and you will see them, however.

Peace,
Greg

what kind of sharks you looking for? if you just want to see the residential white tips...I agree with kanonfodr. if you can get a ride..we see some predators regularly at rabbit island, and out side laie. we'll hook from our boat and drift. there's one charter that will take you there they are out of hawaii kai
