EXPLORER will be running an open boat shark cage dive out of RI Harbor of Refuge (departing Snug Harbor) Sunday Aug 13th, prime shark season. U-Boat (or Bass, client preference depending) on the 12th as well. Both include food, drinks, and all the fixings. The shark dive wil be an early departure due to the long run to the area. We ought to have about an 80% chance of sharks, best odds of the season. Narragansett Pier Dive handles the bookings, if anyone wants technical detauils on the trip contact me.

Do NOT email Pier Dive, they like the old fashoned telephone..

Dave, I'm still up for the Bass/shark trip. But the others I thought could come are going to Canada. Do you have any other takers for the Bass 8/12?

Given how much Charlie enjoys talking, I can't say that surprises me! He's not what I'd call the quiet type! :D

Where do they go for the shark dive? What types of sharks would typically see and how much is it? Probally can't do it, but I'm cureious

Shark Dives run out well past Block Island into deep water, when we get to the site we drop the cage, start chumming, and begin grilling and eating. This is when having a NICE big comfortable boat is great.

Species are generally Blues, although we have seen others. Diving is actually generally snorkeling, shortie suit or full wetsuit. You can wear a tank if you like, but a snorkle works fine. Non-divers are welcome as long as they are comfortable in the water. Vis is usually superb.

I run the boat, Charlie stays at the shop.... ;-). He handles paperwork which is just fine with me! I prefer boat-driving.
