I have to apologize for the delay in this thread. I have been meaning to post this since I spoke with Colon on this last week. Anyways.

I was in my patrol car on the way to an off duty detail when I heard a disturbing call come across the radio. A diver at one of the county beach accesses on south beach was bleeding profusely from his leg caused by a shark bite. One of our deputies responded to the call.

After awhile, I was able to contact that deputy via telephone. He told me it wasn't a shark bite, but a "run over". He told me it was a surfer who ran over himself with his own surf board.

The bad news.... Per EMS the surfer will probably need 50+ stitches in his leg. Ouch.

I know it sounds sick but when I called Colon back, we both got a little laugh out of it. Being ran over by your own surf board. Come on now. You mean to tell me that doesn't make you want to giggle just a little.

Don't get me wrong. I hope the surfer is ok.
